Warisha completed her BA LLB at the National Law School, Bangalore, India. She has worked with different human rights groups and community-based organizations on access to justice, caste/communal/domestic violence and child labor. Warisha also worked closely with a team of concerned citizens in the aftermath of the Gujarat carnage in 2002. She holds an LLM from Columbia Law School, where she was a Human Rights Institute Fellow. After completely her degree, she received the Henkin Stoffel Fellowship from Columbia Law School for two years of work with the ICTJ and human rights groups in Kashmir. Warisha has worked with local human rights and victim groups, civil society and a wide range of stakeholders on documentation, enforced disappearances, impunity and transitional justice in Kashmir.
