Charles Tanzer holds a Master of International Affairs degree with a focus on economic development from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and a bachelor’s degree in East Asian Studies from Oberlin College. He has worked on economic development and aid effectiveness at the United Nations Development Program. He has also served as a speechwriter at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations, and as a grant manager at the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership.
