Eduardo Gonzalez is a Peruvian expert on transitional justice with extensive experience in human rights advocacy and technical assistance in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Prior to joining the ICTJ he was a core staff member of the Peruvian Truth and Reconciliation Commission, where he was responsible for public hearings and victims and witnesses protection, and a member of the editorial committee for the Commission's final report. Previously, he led advocacy efforts in global south countries for the worldwide NGO Coalition for the International Criminal Court, a civil society campaign to put into force the Rome Statute of the ICC. A sociologist by training, he holds degrees from the Catholic University in Peru and the New School for Social Research in New York.
