Laura Davis joined ICTJ in 2006, as Deputy Director of Development, based in Brussels. Between 2007 and 2008 she was based in Kinshasa as Senior Associate with the Africa program and ran the DRC office. In January 2009 she took up a new position as Senior Adviser to the Europe and Africa programs, based in Brussels.
She has worked on European affairs, advocacy and fundraising for non-profits for more than ten years; first with the Federalist Movement (she was Secretary General of the Young European Federalists) and then with the conflict prevention/peacebuilding sector, primarily with Search for Common Ground. She was co-chair of the Human Rights and Democracy Network of NGOs, and chair of Funding for Peace, a working group of the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office. She has published on European integration, transitional justice and peacebuilding, and the DRC. She holds degrees from Somerville College, University of Oxford, in Modern History.
