Country Networks

The ICTJ is committed to fostering and strengthening domestic networks for advocacy and information exchange on transitional justice. The goal of these efforts is to build local capacity by drawing on the often rich resources of partners at both the domestic and international levels.

Indonesia and Timor-Leste

The ICTJ has been committed to strengthening existing NGO networks dealing with transitional justice in Indonesia and Timor-Leste, with a focus on both NGOs, victims groups and universities. ICTJ continues to engage with existing initatives led by civil society in the two countries. In Indonesia, this includes networks working on documenting memory of past atrocities, support for victim-based organisation, and initiatives by women's organisations to document and understand gender-based violations in the past, and work with local networks in conflict and post-conflict settings. In Timor-Leste, this includes engaging with existing networks working on justice, support for dissemination of the CAVR report and implementation of its recommendation, and strengthening of victim's groups.
