Fatine Bolifa

Morocco

Ms Fatine Bolifa is working as a legal advisor to the Palestinian Legislative Council. She is studying toward an LLM Degree in Comparative Constitutional Law at Central European University, Budapest. During 1997 she earned her License in Law from Muhammad V. University in Rabat. Prior to her studies she worked in the Palestinian territories for ten years. Here she gained experience in legal and policy reform. She also worked with Penal Reform International in Morocco on juvenile justice and prisoners’ rights.

Abigail Gyimah

Ghana

Ms Abigail Gyimah is currently employed as the Programme Officer at Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD Ghana). From 2002-2003 she held the post as Administrative Officer at the Campus Christian Family National Secretariat. During 2001 she worked for New Times Corporation (the Weekly Spectator) and various other media institutions like Fox FM, Metropolitan Television and Ghana News Agency. Ms Gyimah graduated form the University of Ghana in 2006 where she received a first class Honours degree in Political Science. She also received a Diploma in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism in July 2002.

Roselyn Hanzi

Zimbabwe

Ms Roselyn Hanzi was a consultant for Zimbabwe Lawyers’ for Human Rights (ZLHR) interviewing victims of torture and crimes against humanity, representing victims in court and fact-finding missions. She is a former intern at Zimbabwe HR NGO Forum and just completed an internship at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) in Tanzania. Ms Hanzi received her Master of Law degree (Human rights and Democratisation) from the University of Pretoria in 2006, and a Bachelor of Law, with honours, from the University of Zimbabwe in 2003.

Gladys Kudzaishe Hlatywayo

Zimbabwe

Ms Gladys Hlatywayo is an Advocacy Officer with the Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition, in Harare. During 2005 she was the Research Assistant at the Shanduko Trust. During that same year she also held the post as Project Officer at J.A.D Consultancy. Ms Hlatywayo holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Zimbabwe. She is currently studying toward a post graduate diploma in Project Planning and Management.

Hanatu Kabbah

Sierra Leone

Ms Hanatu Kabbah was the Deputy Director and the head of the gender unit of the Lawyers Centre for Legal Assistance, since 2001 until recently. She is currently in the process of establishing a Law Justice Development Centre. From 1991-2001 she was the Private Legal Practitioner at Wright & Co Barristers and Solicitors. Ms Kabbah holds a Master of Laws (Public Service Law) from New York University.

Mark Marvey

Liberia

Mr Mark Marvey is currently the programme officer for NAYMOTE-Partners for Democratic Development, a non-governmental organisation based in Liberia. He is a candidate for LLB at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, University of Liberia. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy and General Business Management from the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University College.

Rose Nakayi

Uganda

Ms Rose Nakayi is the Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Law at Makerere University since 2001. Prior to this she was the Coordinator for the LLM Programme in Human Rights and Democratization in Africa, run by the Faculty of Law at Makerere University in partnership with other universities outside Uganda. She received her LLM during 2001 from the University of Cambridge, a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Makerere University in Kampala in 1999 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice during 2000 at the Law Development Center, Kampala.

Ghislain Gilles Ngoie Kayumba

Democratic Republic of the Congo

Mr Ghislain Gilles Ngoie Kayumba, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, is currently employed as a journalist at Radio-Television TAM-TAM Afrique in Lubumbashi, DRC and teacher of English at Saint Boniface High School. From 2000-2001 he was the producer and presenter of Cultural Programs at Radio Phoenix University. In 2005 Mr Kayumba received training on conveying political information during the election period by Jean Karim Fall from RFI (Radio France Internationale). During 2004 he received place and mission of community and associative radio stations during the election period by Jacques Soncin (Director of URCAF). He also received professional training on Data Collection for a journalist in a non-developed country by Willy Kalengayi, Chief Editor of Antennae A, TV/Kinshasa/DRC. That same year he received his Honours Degree in English and African Cultures at ISP, DRC.

Boniface Ojok

Uganda

Mr Ojok Boniface heads the Justice and Reconciliation Project (JRP) in Gulu, Uganda, where he is employed as the Project Officer and Lead Researcher. Since December 2006 he was appointed to serve in the Acholi traditional institution as a minister. During 2004 he was the Monitoring Assistant for the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) and the Assessment Officer for Gulu District Directorate for Health Services and Ministry of Health respectively. Mr Boniface has a Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University.

Raphael Sabun Njira

Sudan

Mr Raphael Solomon Sabun, from Sudan, is the Programme Liaison Officer at Reconcile International in Juba. He also held the post as Assistant Program Manager for World Concern International, Micro Enterprise Development Program from 2005 to 2007. From 1998-2004 he was the Education Coordinator for World Relief International. Mr Sabun obtained a BA in English Language & Literature from Alexandria University in Egypt.

Musa Sultani

Afghanistan

Mr Musa Sultani, from Afghanistan, is currently working as a Regional Program Manager at the Afghanistan Independent HR Commission. During 2004-2005 he held the position as Language Officer at the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA). He also held the position as Secretary/Language Assistant to UNAMA Military Advisory Unit for one year. Mr Sultani holds a M.A in Arabic and Islamic Studies (Law & Jurisprudence) which he received from Al-Muntazar University in Pakistan.

Yasser Waris

Afghanistan

Mr Waris Yasser, from Afghanistan, is currently working as a Human Rights Officer for the United Nations Assistance Mission. He holds the position as Ordinary Member of the Lawyers Association of Afghanistan since 2001. He has experience working for international NGO’s, amongst these being the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) during 2006. He also held the post as National Regional External Relations Officer for UNOPS/JEMB in Afghanistan during 2005. Mr Yasser obtained a Bachelor of Law and Political Science degree from Balkh University in 2004.
