Gabriel Arturo coordinates ICTJ’s criminal justice-related activities in Colombia. He has over 10 years of experience coordinating human rights projects for victims of the armed conflict, people with disabilities, and former combatants in Colombia. Previously, Gabriel Arturo has worked for UNHCR and civil society organizations in Colombia and France. A social scientist with a research interest in the concept of punishment in liberal societies, he has taught seminars on transitional justice and research methods in different Colombian universities. Gabriel Arturo holds a Ph.D. in Law from Los Andes University, a M.S. in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a M.A. in Philosophy, and B.A. degrees in Philosophy and Spanish Literature.
