Development Assistant

The Development Assistant position is a temporary part-time non-exempt clerical position limited to 20 hours per week maximum, for the period of 6 months. The Development Assistant will provide basic clerical support for the Development Department, assisting in the general efficiency through database management and data entry, event support, fundraising research and other essential administrative functions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Under the guidance, coordination and supervision of the Director of Development:
* Assists the day-to-day operations of the development department.
* Produces monthly deadline reminders, processes gift/payments and acknowledgments
* Creates internal reports by using the Raiser’s Edge database.
* Maintains donor contacts reports and financial records.
* Conducts prospect and donor research and produces briefing documents.
* Provides logistical support for special events.
* Produces mailings and maintains development materials and folders.
* Contributes to the overall work of ICTJ and other tasks as assigned.

Position Details:

  • Start date: Immediate
  • Hours: 18 hours per week
  • Status: Non-exempt
  • Duration of contract: 6 months
  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Position based: New York City

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Preference to applicants with Development experience
  • Proficiency in The Raiser’s Edge database software required.
  • Advanced skills in Web-based programs and platforms, Excel, Word, Outlook and database management.
  • Excellent oral communication in English and strong writing skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with rigorous attention to detail in a multi-task and fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and a commitment to teamwork as a team player with professionalism, integrity and commitment.
