Job Description

The Development Coordinator position is a temporary part-time non-exempt position limited to 19 hours per week maximum, for the period of six months. The Development Coordinator will be responsible for providing support for the development of an individual giving program with special focus on production and coordination of events, including production of relevant materials; prospect tracking, moves management, and data entry; list management; solicitation; and donor acknowledgements.

Key Aspects of the Job

  • Production and coordination of the “Inside ICTJ” event program and support for other events as needed
  • Service as a key point for Moves Management for Individual Prospects
  • Production of an evolving Annual Fund appeal and other solicitations
  • Support creation of materials essential for various aspects of individual giving

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Under the guidance, coordination, and supervision of the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator will:

  • Work closely with Director of Development focusing on coordination of the “Inside ICTJ” quarterly events.
  • Assist in developing and editing copy for all event-related materials (invitations, signage, emails, post-event follow-up).
  • Generate mailing lists for events, direct mail appeals, and donor management activities.
  • Actively oversee all aspects of event management and RSVPs.
  • Support tracking of Moves Management (through existing protocol).
  • Assist with the production of development materials (briefing book, Case for Support).
  • Assist in conceptualizing and producing a small Annual Fund campaign.
  • Ensure that all updates to donor records are made correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Track and code all individual donations.
  • Enter and process all donations via Raiser’s Edge.
  • Manage gift transmittal procedure, including coordination with the Finance Department.
  • Work with Finance and the Development teams on gift adjustments and fiscal year-end reconciliation.

Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an individual giving environment.
  • Experience in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and great attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Successfully works independently, self-directed, as well as adaptable in team settings.
  • Ability to handle proprietary and confidential information.
  • Identification with ICTJ’s mission.
