Job Description 

Working under the Director of Finance, the Part-Time Finance Analyst will assist ICTJ’s finance team with grant activity and financial reporting. This position is based in ICTJ's New York City office.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and enter in accounting system country office monthly expense reports.
  • Assist in monitoring grant activity; maintaining and insuring accuracy of records and supporting documentation for grant activity.
  • Assist in reviewing the general ledger to ensure accurate entry of revenues, receivables, foreign exchange adjustments, and expenses per fund, cross-referencing donor-approved grant budgets and institutional budgets.
  • Assist with journal entry and reclassification of expenses in the accounting system.
  • Communicating with country office finance staff to address financial matters such as budgeting, fund and activity coding, fixed cost allocations, etc.
  • Assist with institutional audit preparations.
  • Performing related duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or Finance
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (Excel will be used to perform each of the above activities)
  • Experience with fund accounting is beneficial but not a requirement; experience with accounting software and general ledger analysis is a plus (ICTJ uses Abila MIP Fund Accounting)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Financial analytical skills are highly preferred
  • Must be detail-oriented and methodical
