Programs Intern

ICTJ is currently seeking interns for its Programs department in the New York City office. Selected interns will gain practical experience as part of a dedicated Programs department, building skills in research and writing in a small office environment. The Programs department typically hosts 2-3 interns per semester, who are managed and mentored by a Programs Senior Expert. The intern will receive training, guidance, and supervision from ICTJ’s Programs Experts working on an array of transitional justice human rights themes.

The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and research skills, as well as a solid understanding of transitional justice concepts. Candidates with advanced Spanish and/or Arabic language skills will be given first preference.

  • Interns must commit to at least 14hrs throughout the week.
  • Excellent oral, written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-starter

Interns are encouraged to attend all ICTJ public events, open meetings, and other local human rights-related events to foster their understanding of current trends in transitional justice. This is a part-time, unpaid internship based in our New York City office. Students should check with their academic institution to see if they are eligible to receive academic credit for this internship.
