Colombia’s ELN Rebels Say Duque Conditions for Peace Talks ‘Unacceptable’


Colombia’s ELN rebels called President Ivan Duque’s conditions for the continuation of peace talks “unacceptable,” but said that they intended to continue freeing captives. Duque, who took office last month, has said the group must free 19 hostages before the peace talks can resume. At his inauguration, he said he would take one month to evaluate whether to continue the negotiations, which began under his predecessor.
