Investigador de la CICIG Ingresa a Guatemala por Orden de la CC


After being held for 26 hours at La Aurora International Airport (AILA), Yilen Osorio Zuluaga, the investigator of the International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala (CICIG), entered the country on Monday, 7 January, amid protests against the government for refusing to comply with the Court’s decisions.

His entry was permitted by a majority ruling by the Constitutional Court, which ordered the fulfillment of the protection previously granted to 11 members of the Commission, who had had their courtesy visas revoked, and overturned a decision by the Guatemalan Migration Institute (IGM) to prevent Zuluaga from entering. The Court ordered the director of the IGM, Carlos Emilio Morales Cancino, to allow the CICIG investigator to enter, or risk his dismissal.
