Lebanon judge to probe corruption complaints by activists


Financial Prosecutor Judge Ali Ibrahim opened an investigation into three corruption complaints filed by the We Want Accountability campaign after protesters met with him outside the Beirut Justice Palace Wednesday.

The activists met with Ibrahim and then later State Prosecutor Samir Hammoud outside the courthouse after being banned from entering the premises by police officers guarding the entrance.

“No one will enjoy political cover, as we intend to hold them (politicians) accountable until we build a real nation,” a lawyer with the campaign told reporters after meeting with the prosecutors
