NHRC Chair in Nepal Accuses Government of Not Being Serious Towards Resolving Transitional Justice Process


Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission Anup Raj Sharma on Sunday accused the government of not being serious about resolving the much-delayed transitional justice process.

"Not a single war-era case relating to human rights violations was addressed by the successive governments after the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement 13 years ago," Sharma said in an address in the capital.  

The head of the human rights body said that the government has done nothing to end impunity in the country. He said the transitional justice mechanisms have become dysfunctional due to lack of required laws.
