Qatar to Train 12 Gambians in Cybercrime and Anti-Corruption

The government of Qatar is currently funding the training of 12 Gambian candidates from the Ministry of Justice, the police, and the judiciary in cybercrime and anti-corruption in Qatar. Qatar also recently provided a $3 million grant for The Gambia’s transitional justice process.

Minister Tambadou said The Gambia cannot fund all the different mechanisms that are part of the country’s transitional justice process. “Qatar has been extremely helpful to The Gambia across many sectors. Hence, the visit of the attorney general today is to further demonstrate the continuous commitment of Qatar to The Gambia as it navigates this very difficult transitional period… to see to Gambia’s success in the transition from dictatorship to democracy,” he said.
