RECOM: Political Oligarchs in the Western Balkans Glorifying War Criminals


At the opening of the Transitional Justice Forum in Belgrade, RECOM Reconciliation Network coordinator Natasa Kandic said remembrance policies were in the hands of oligarchs using them for manipulation and glorifying convicted war criminals. 

The RECOM Reconciliation Network is a regional coalition of non-governmental organizations and individuals pushing for a committee to be formed to establish the facts on the victims of the wars in the former Yugoslavia from 1991 to 2001. 

The director of the Center for Peace Policy, from Zagreb, Vesna Terselic, said that the process of reconciliation was suspended politically, but not among citizens.
