As Program Writer and Program Department Coordinator, Alec is responsible for helping to conceptualize and write technical, substantive, and programmatic content for ICTJ. He also provides high-level support to the Director of Programs to ensure the optimal quality and efficiency of ICTJ’s program department. Before joining ICTJ in 2015, he was a consultant for Professor Mila Versteeg of the University of Virginia School of Law, where he conducted research on comparative constitutional law. He also served as a visiting academic at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Oxford, where he pursued research on human rights and international law. He was a program associate at the Foundation for Law, Justice, and Society, where he worked on the programming of lectures, workshops and panel debates on understanding the role of law in society. He holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia, an M.A. in Human Rights from Columbia University, and a B.A. in Global Affairs from George Mason University.
