Armenia

Maria joined ICTJ as a Program Coordinator for the Armenia program in 2020.  She has a background in Economics and Law, as well as extensive grassroots human rights and project management experience in Armenia. Maria is an ILO certified gender auditor, and a member of the European Women’s Lawyers’ Association. She is the co-chair of the Yezidi Genocide Recognition Advocacy working group in the European Anti-Racist Grassroot Movement, and a CEDAW TaskForce Armenia founding member. Maria has written extensively on human rights issues, specifically gender equality, criminal justice, anti-discrimination and human rights in closed institutions. She is a 2019 Human Rights Advocates (HRAP) fellow at the Institute for the Study of Human Rights at Columbia University in New York.
