Gender Justice

The ICTJ Gender and Transitional Justice curriculum is based on over 15 years of experience working on gender issues in over 25 countries around the world. It is intended to broaden the knowledge of civil society groups and other practitioners about how to incorporate a gender-sensitive approach into the design and implementation of transitional justice programs.

What do we mean by justice in these circumstances? How do we balance the interests of justice and dignity with the pursuit of peace and stability? What can be done to restore the basic values of trust and respect in a system shattered by atrocities perpetrated on an enormous scale? How does a society recover?
