Sarah O’Hagan

Sarah O’Hagan is a non-profit board leader working with leading organizations in the sectors of international humanitarian relief, education, and the media. 

Sarah is vice-chair of the Board of Trustees of Johns Hopkins University, and former Chair of the Board of Advisors of the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.  

As co-Chair of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) from 2010-2016, and an active IRC board member from 1998-present, she has over two decades of experience working on issues related to refugees, ranging from program development, field visits with related advocacy and representation to public and private stakeholders, to governance and fundraising. She is currently the founding Chair of The Fuller Project for International Reporting, a global non-profit newsroom dedicated to investigating and reporting multimedia journalism on women.  Sarah also served from 2016-2022 on the Board of America Media, the leading Jesuit media organization innovating multi-platform delivery of editorial content for Catholic readers.  

Sarah is a former full-time reporter, and strategic communications consultant, and holds an MA from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a BA with Honors from the College of Letters, at Wesleyan University.
