Samba Jawo currently serves as a Legal Consultant for ICTJ’s Gambia Office. Before joining ICTJ in 2023, he was a seasoned educator with nearly a decade of teaching experience across all levels in both private and public schools in The Gambia. He specialized in Government, English literature, History, and Civics.
Samba is the founder of GAMCIVICS, an initiative committed to promoting civic education, accountability, and peacebuilding. He is also the certified author of Comprehensive Civic Education for Senior Secondary Schools, a textbook approved by the Ministry of Education and used nationwide.
Samba holds an LLB and an LL.M from the University of The Gambia, where he completed a thesis on Comparative Criminal Law.
